Accounting Data Analyst

TM Accountant, Inc. in Arlington Heights, IL has an opening for a position of Accounting Data Analyst.

Position Description:

Accounting Data Analyst will work with our trucking and logistics companies’ clients to assist them with optimizing financial performance and operational efficiency and assist CPAs and other personnel with financial reporting and decision-making.

• Process and interpret large datasets, providing accountants, financial analysts and managers with insights that help in financial reporting and decision-making.
• Provide CPAs with recommendations based on data insights, enabling better advisory services to clients.
• Collect and organize financial and operational data from various sources, such as dispatch systems and accounting software, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Interpret financial data to identify trends, anomalies, and insights that can inform business strategies.
• Analyze transportation costs, including fuel, maintenance, driver wages, and route efficiency.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and assess the financial impact of operational decisions.
• Create detailed reports and visualizations that present findings to stakeholders, making complex data understandable.
• Use historical data to develop financial forecasts and budgets to guide future planning.
• Assess financial risks by analyzing data patterns, helping our clients to mitigate potential financial issues.
• Develop dashboards to track key performance indicators (KPIs) like revenue per mile, load profitability, and operational expenses.
• Analyze route data to determine the most efficient routes, which can lead to reduced fuel costs and improved delivery times.
• Use data modeling techniques to predict the impact of different routing decisions on costs and revenues.
• Assess driver performance through data analysis, evaluating factors like on-time deliveries, fuel efficiency, and safety records.
• Identify financial risks related to fluctuating fuel prices, regulatory changes, or economic conditions.
• Develop strategies to mitigate these risks based on data insights.
• Assist with implementing and optimizing accounting and logistics software solutions that improve data collection and analysis.
• Work closely with accountants and other professionals to provide data-driven insights that enhance financial decision-making.

Position Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field.
• Knowledge of Statistics and Operations Research Methods as evidenced by prior experience or specific course work.
• Familiarity with trucking and logistics industry as evidenced by prior experience, education, or training.
• Must be fluent in the Ukrainian and Russian languages.

This is a full-time position.
